Wedding prep has been ongoing for quite some time now. It started with sourcing for the really urgent stuff like securing a wedding venue. It's funny how our kiasu Singaporean mentality has 'naturally' overflowed into wedding preparations. To secure the popular venues for the wedding banquet, couples actually have to book about 1 & 1/2 to 2 years in advance! Or else it'll be booked by someone else and the date for your wedding banquet (worse still, if it's a popular date) will be GONE with the wind!

I was getting quite desperate and was starting to mass mail hotels but to no avail because all the hotels within our budget were already booked for 12/13 Dec. Boo hoo! But we're thankful because we manage to book a nice place for our wedding banquet (I'm sure you already know the details because they were under 'Wedding Events").

Now I always carry my 'Wedding Planner' notebook with me. It's just a normal notebook with dividers but I like to spend little pockets of free time writing down ideas, plans or just writing out the guest list. It's exciting to see how the plans are starting to firm up slowly as the notebook gets filled up. =)

Wedding Excitement & Ailments

Hahaha.... I think all of you know that already but sometimes I can't believe it. I don't know how come a great guy like Dom can love a girl like me with all my imperfections. I'm blessed. Sometimes I just wish I can get married like...... next week or something! 8 months feels too long to be waiting to get married but oh well..... I guess we just have to wait and do our best to plan a great wedding!

In the meantime, I'm really excited for a friend of mine. Need to confirm details with her but I wish I can just talk to her right now!!!

Right now, I'm kinda nursing an ailment and was on ML for 3 days. Lost about 2kg so far coz I can't eat properly coz I can't open my mouth properly coz it hurts my jaw. Infection of the salivary gland. Salivary WHAT?? Yes. How come I come down with all sorts of weird ailments? I don't know. Well, it's swollen and all and has been recurring since I got mumps about a year ago. But this time it didn't subside after taking medication and I got fed up of its frequent recurrance so I went to see a specialist. So I'll be doing a CT scan this Wednesday. Hopefully I'll find out once and for all what exactly is wrong and get well soon.

Yesterday, No 1 showed a video about a child who untied the knot in her heart and managed to open up about her father's death. I was on the verge of tearing. Why was I so emo? Then I thought of him. Yes, it must be because of him.

Then this morning, I heard this old Kit Chan song on the radio. It's a song asking someone to walk out of their dark word and reach out to those around them. It made me think about him again. If only he reached out.

It's been almost 2 years. But I cried once more tonight for him despite trying to keep it all inside.

A while back, I talked about the different stages of attending weddings.

Stage 1: Weddings of parent's friends (as a kid)

Stage 2: Weddings of seniors

Stage 3: Weddings of peers

and that's where I stopped coz at that point in time, my friends had only started getting married and I was lamenting how I've entered another stage in life.

Now, I'd like to add another stage to the above.

Stage 4: Weddings of friends younger than me! (2 so far and the 3rd will be later this year!)

Excited for them!

As for me, let me see what I've accomplished so far for my wedding planning.

Date set
Dinner booked
Church booked (oops need to email the form)
Bridal studio booked
Day 1 photographer booked (signing contract next week)

And these things left to be done.....

Dinner photographer (Have someone in mind already)
Church Deco (Small budget = BIG headache)
Design of wedding gown (-_-)
Toning up myself project (Complete failure)
Fund our wedding project (Also suffering a financial crisis) :'(

Of course there are tons of other stuff but that's all I can think of for now, I guess.

Jiayou to Dom & me! *Waves pom poms*
